I (Adrienna) love opals, like I really really love opals. I've always loved the flecks of colors that swirl around in pal jewelry, and the rainbow of colors. I love how they change colors in various lighting, with different colors popping out in sunlight, and different colors inside. I love wearing my opal ring, which was a lovely gift from my boyfriend (shout out to Woody for picking a nice ring). We also love when a bride dares to be different, either with her opal engagement ring, or opal accessories! We have some amazing opal options in the shop, like this Twigs and Honey hair vine, or sashes by Hushed Commotion. It's such a gorgeous alternative to rhinestones and beading, opals catch the light in a spectacular way!

THOUGHTS TUESDAY: The magic of overlays
At Ivory + Beau we love the idea of mixing and matching. There are so many combinations you can do with veils and accessories, but what about the dress? Well, we have overlays! These are the perfect way to add lace or sleeves to any gown. Are you dreaming of a lace long sleeve gown, but you are in love with Dakota by Nicole Miller, a strapless mermaid? No problem! Add the Brooke top by Rebecca Schoneveld and you have your self the perfect combination. Having this opens allows every strapless gown we have be turned into the gown of your dreams. So how can you style this new bridal look? Below we show a crimson wedding, with tons of glass candle holders, and the cutest red bridesmaid gowns ever! The top featured is Marisol by Rebecca Schoneveld, Photographed by Lavender and Twine, and was featured on Style Me Pretty! P.S Check out the Cosette Sash by Hushed Commotion she is wearing! It's one of our top selling sashes!

RENT THE RUNWAY: Bridesmaids Dresses + Hushed Commotion
Bridesmaids gowns can be really tricky. How do you pick one gown that will suit all of your girls, and be affordable? We'll we love the idea of Rent The Runway, where your girls can rent a gown for the evening, in any size they need! But why have them all in one type of gown, when you can mix and match! We love having your bridesmaids pick gowns that not only work with your theme or colors, but works with their body shape and skin tone. And what better accessories to add then gorgeous ones by Hushed Commotion! We paired some of our favorite accessories with some of the hottest gowns on Rent The Runway! Check out the looks below!
One option is to let your bridesmaids choose a gown in color blocking! This way you can have a common color among the girls, but each one gets to pick the style they want. As long as the silhouettes are similar (shown here in sheath knee lengths) each girl can have a different pattern! And after the wedding? Add some fun earrings by Hushed Commotion to complete the look!
[Color Block Party Dress by Herve Leger // Whiplash of Color by Herve Leger // Blocked Off Sheath by Jay Godfrey // Andrea Earrings in Hot Pink and Cassidy Earrings in Yellow by Hushed Commotion]
Are you looking for a bold color for your wedding? Cobalt blue is perfect for all skin tones! Plus you can mix and match gowns in different hues as long as they are in the same fabric. Here we have lace options, so your girls can pick the shapes and sleeves that work best for them. We love adding a blue sash and earrings to tie them all together!

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Hushed Commotion Bridal Accessories + a Holiday Party
Holidays are coming up. Which means holiday parties are also coming up. Which means time to purchase a new party dress? Maybe some sparkly heels? Glitter tights? All of the above? Last year we styled a mini bridal accessories shoot with Mackensey Alexander and Beyond Beautiful by Heather at Ships of the Sea Museum. We wanted to come up with some stylish ways for brides to re-use their bridal accessories during the holidays. One of my favorites was this pearl and sparkly sash by Hushed Commotion. {STYLED SHOOT} Calligraphy, Horses + a Barn
Today we are sharing our styled shoot at Savannah's newest barn venue, Red Gate Farm, part of The Mackey House!! This venue is so perfect for a Southern wedding. Both the outside surrounding areas are beautiful as well as the barn itself. When we did our shoot they were still working on renovations and upgrades to the interior but we still loved it and cannot wait to see how it looks now! For the shoot, we were inspired by calligraphy and literature and wanted a deep color palette filled with romantic shades of scarlet, deep purples, and gold.
Allison Kuhn photographed every little detail of the shoot. We used one of our newest bridal gowns from Lena Medoyeff paired with a Hushed Commotion sash for our bride, Adrienna's boyfriend's sister Tara, who was made over by Marie Bramlett. For the ceremony we used vintage doors and pews from Savannah's newest vintage rental company, Rentiquity. Our lounge area was setup with vintage furniture from In Any Event accompanied with decor pieces from both Ultra Pom and Simply Southern Weddings and flowers designed by A to Zinnas. The reception and dessert table linens are also from Ultra Pom and are quite possibly our favorite linens in existence. Kaitlin Slattery of Forever September hand wrote the calligraphy chargers and escort cards as well as designed the adorable invitation suite filled with calligraphy and a cat illustration... our favorite of course. The other china adorning the table is from Lillian's China. Desserts from Rum Runners Bakery and Gigi's Cupcakes. Last, but most certainly not least since she is our favorite ever singer in Savannah and our good friend... Sarah Tollerson, our bridesmaid, rocking a dress from Copper Penny paired with an Elaya Vaughn sash. We hope you enjoy!!

Why We Love Our Designers #3: Bridal Accessories Designers
So you saw a bridal accessory you love on Pinterest. But you also saw another bridal accessory you saw on Pinterest. And maybe even you saw a third. And you just love them all, well parts of them. And you're thinking to yourself, now if these two accessories were combined and this one had the tulle and rhinestones mixed with the feathers and pearls from this one plus the glitter from this third one then everything would be complete + you would finally be ready to get married. We understand. It's important to find that perfect piece that completes the entire look. That piece that says, I am the bride. I am getting married. I am ready. I am in love. And this is what I'm going to wear to say I do in. We get it. We really do. The perfect sash can make or break a dress. The perfect veil can change a dress from just a dress to oh my gosh that's my dress. The perfect headpiece can bring out that Great Gatsby look you wanted to rock so bad. We seriously seriously get it. And we want to be a part of this process just as much as we want to be a part of shopping for your wedding dress.
But... this post isn't about why you should come shop with us for your wedding dress (although you should). But no... this post is about why you should come shop with us for your bridal accessories. Enlist prettiness in pictures now with some words mixed in just to keep things interesting.
1. We now have 5 bridal accessories-only designers* plus 2 bridal designers who also have accessories. That's 7 designers. 7 handpicked by us designers. 7 awesome designers who rock. 7 designers with a crazy large assortment of options to choose from. Now that doesn't mean we have every single thing from these designer's collections in our store... but... you know what's different about shopping at a boutique as opposed to a chain??? We can work directly with you and our designers to bring your dream accessory directly to you. That's right. And this is honestly the part we love the most. So if you are looking for a bridal accessory send us pictures of what you love. And you know what we are going to do for you?! We are going to first pick out the pieces we do have in stock that we think will fit your vision and we are going to get those ready for you to look at and then... we are going to scour our designer's collections of what we don't currently carry and then we are going to ask them to ship it directly to us just for you. True life. It just happened. And it was awesome. And this is why we love our designers so much. Because they want to make your dreams come true too. They want you to feel beautiful on your wedding day just as much as we do. So contact us today with your dream bridal accessory + we will find it and bring it to you. It's our mission in life and it's why we opened this shop and it's what we love doing.
2. So maybe your dream bridal accessory doesn't exist yet. Maybe it's just not out there. Maybe you just really want cat lace on a tulle bow with rhinestones and pearls in it and that just hasn't ever been made. Because maybe you are just that bride who is so unique and so awesome that you are a trendsetter and what you want is so awesome that it has just never been done. Do not fret. We recently added a brand new designer who is local to Savannah. So if you are interested in having a completely custom bridal accessory made just for you then call us. We will contact our awesome bridal accessory designer and we will have her come in just for you. Pretty cool huh? I think it's cool. I also think that both Adrienna + I are super jealous of the bride who found kitty cat lace on Etsy and is getting a custom headpiece made... Just saying.
So, are you looking for the perfect bridal accessory to complete your look and to bring everything together?? Well, call us, e-mail us with pictures of what you want, and we will get you set up with a bridal accessories appointment and then all will be complete with the world. I mean with your bridal attire. ;)
Huge huge huge thank you to our amazing bridal accessories designers: Hushed Commotion, Twigs & Honey, Jaclyn Jordan, Recherche, Stella's Design, Elaya Vaughn and Faith Thornburg!!! We are obsessed with every single one of you and are super thankful for how amazing to work with you all have been!!!!

SIMPLY BRIDAL: Hushed Commotion Lookbook
When Thea, the designer of Hushed Commotion, sent us the look book of her 2014 collection ours jaws dropped! Not only are her accessories stunning, but the photography by Jen Huang is amazing! When we saw Thea's items at market, we knew we had to add her to the shop. Her work is unique but with a touch of vintage. We especially love her use of gold (the must have metallic in bridal!). All of her items are handcrafted with love in Brooklyn, New York. We are so happy to be one of 6 stores that carry her line (and the only one in the south!) You can see more of her look book on her website + 100 Layer Cake!

{STYLED SHOOT} Bohemian Fondue
Sometimes you have styled shoots + you have unruly misbehaving models... this was a good example of one. Our flower girl model would not stop eating our food (meant as props).... But really. She was trying to eat an entire loaf of bread... she ate all the strawberries + she kept eating the pineapple too... Good thing she is super ridiculously adorable so it kind of made up for it. This bohemian fondue shoot was our very first shoot we did featuring our bridal gowns from our boutique + it was such a blast!!!! Teresa of Memories n More photographed our faux bride wearing a Sarah Seven and a Rebecca Schoneveld gown with accessories by Hushed Commotion. Sara Jane Boutique lent us the adorable dress, furry vest + headpiece. The Creative Porcupine designed the fondue menus for the shoot + they were super adorable!!! Beyond Beautiful by Heather did the hair + makeup of the model who was also her sister!!! Doesn't she look like a goddess or a fairy!?!? Adrienna + I crafted the teepee (which now sits in the corner of our shop!) This shoot was also just featured on The Lovely Find so make sure you go on over to check out the feature there!!! Thank you to all the awesome vendors who were apart of this shoot!!
