STYLED SHOOT: Bohemian Baby Goats

We love baby animals at Ivory + Beau. Like really, really love. So anytime that we are able to work with them, we jump on the opportunity! When Emily Anderson from E.M Anderson Photography contacted us saying she wanted to do a shoot with us, and wanted to do it on a goat farm, we were hooked. We came up with a bohemian farm shoot, with farm table seating, lots of texture, and a vegetable table scape. We used Winnie by Daughters of Simone, with it's gorgeous off the shoulder lace that fit the theme perfectly. A full organic menu was provided by Thrive Catering, and was shot at Bootleg Farm, a gorgeous farm that makes goat cheese. The gorgeous jewelry was made by Laurel Baker of Anchor Boutique, and the delicate pieces fit perfectly with our shoot.

Our favorite part though? All of the goats! They had so many baby goats, we wanted to take them all home! Plus they had a huge herd of adult goats, that roamed around the forest. After being there for a day, we both want goats of our own. Check out more images of our shoot up on Fab You Bliss!

BRIDESMAIDS MONDAY: Blush by Hayley Paige + Orange

Can you believe it's June? We sure can't! Time has been going so quickly at the shop, and summer is already flying by! Summer means bright colors, and one of the funnest colors to use is orange. This bold color doesn't need much to make a punch! There are so many hues you can use, from soft peaches to bright sunburnt orange (like the bridesmaids dress we picked) We were inspired by this shoot on Ruffled, with so many shades of orange! Plus, they used Lotus by Blush by Hayley Paige, which we have in the shop! She has soft chiffon lace and handkerchief hem details.

We are running out of space in the shop, so we added even more gowns as part of our summer sample sale! We have a rack under $1000, a rack of gowns that are $1000, and a section $1100-$2000. This is a great way to get a dress quick, and at a huge discount! Samples are in good to great condition, and range from size 2-14. Make sure to shop early to get the best selection!!

DIY: Geometric Shapes + Wedding Chicks Feature

We love to do DIY projects, and for our most recent shoot at The Brice Hotel with Apt. B photography, we knew we wanted to make a cool ceremony backdrop. The theme was mid-century modern, so we wanted to do something geometric. We decided to make geometric shapes using wooden dowels and styrofoam balls. This was so easy to make, and you can make shapes as large or small as you want! Ours turned out to be about 2' by 2', which were perfect when they were hung behind the couple. This only takes a few steps, and you can use any color spray paint to achieve any look you want!

Check out the rest of this shoot on Wedding Chicks today!

Supplies: Glue gun and glue sticks // Gold spray-paint // Wooden dowels // Styrofoam balls

1. Get all of your supplies!
2. Spray paint the wooden dowels. You can use any size you wish, that way you can make various shapes.
3. Figure out where you would like the wooden dowels attached to the styrofoam balls. Make a dent, so you know where to glue in step 4.
4. Glue the wooden dowels to the styrofoam. Make sure the dowel is 1/2 inch in, to assure it stays together.
5. Attach all of your pieces, making any shape you wish. We also had a few that had extra appendages, so they were not just enclosed shapes.
6. Viola! 3D geometric shapes! These can easily be hung using fishing line.

BRIDESMAIDS MONDAY: Dahl Trunk Show

Our next trunk show is with Dahl! These gowns are handmade in NYC, and are individually cut and sewn. Their fabrics are gorgeous, and they focus on the female form. Their gowns are a mix of classic laces and non traditional details (like this amazing back featured below). They range from $1200-$2800, so a great price point too! At Ivory + Beau, we truly believe you can buy American made, without breaking the bank. You might recognize the designer, Alison Dahl Kelly, from the third season of Project Runway, back when it was on Bravo (and in my opinion, much better. Now they focus too much on the drama, and less on the work... but I still watch it religiously...) And as you know, we love our Project Runway designers, like Kate Pankoke!

So, in the theme of a rocker chic bride, we created this Bridesmaids Monday! And if you know me, you know my obsession with nail polish, so I had to add a cool black shade with pops of gold glitter. Black can be edgy and girly at the same time, when you add some glitter and flowers! We will have these gowns from May 23rd - 30th ONLY! This is an exclusive event, since they are currently not available in stores. So make sure to make an appointment to visit us!

DESIGNER FEATURE: Ti Adora

Each season Ti Adora gets better and better! Designed by the same designer as Alvina Valenta, Ti Adora is the softer, more bohemian sister. They blend soft fabrics, intricate detail, and gorgeous laces to create a collection that is free-spirit, romantic and definitely Savannah. It's a fresh take on the boho bride, and so far our brides have loved the Spring 2015 collection, especially Sophie + Britney!! Plus, all of the gowns are under $2500, so budget friendly.

We will be hosting a trunk show with all of the Spring 2015 gowns from May 8th - 16th ONLY! We are also offering 10% all Ti Adora orders during the show, so set up your appointment before we book up!

DESIGNER FEATURE: Flora and Lane

When we first saw the gowns by Flora and Lane, we were in awe. They were so stunning, so romantic, so delicate.... so perfect! Flora and Lane are designed by 3 designers, who wanted to make gowns that were hand made and small scale production. They are a mix of feminine and soft silhouettes, for an etherial and bohemian bride. Not only are these gowns stunning, they are affordable! All of the gowns are under $1500, so perfect for a bride on a budget.

We will have these gowns ALL MAY as part of our Wed Altered trunk show series.  Are you loving these gowns? Then make an appointment with us before they leave! This is an exclusive event, and these gowns are not sold in any stores.

THOUGHTS TUESDAY: Doggy + Weddings

So I've officially crossed into the world of dogs. My boyfriend and I adopted a golden labrador retriever, and man is she cute! I've always wanted an animal at my wedding, and unfortunately I don't think our cats would be good participants. Sure, my boy cat is chill, but I don't think he would sit for very long, or want to be on a leash! So that leaves our new dog, Daisy, to have the honors. There are so many ways to incorporate dogs in your wedding, from them actually being there, to doggy inspired gifts!

One way is having your special friend on the day of the wedding! Dress them up in a flower crown, and let them be the center of attention. You can let them be the ring bearer or flower girl, or let them join the reception (if they are calm enough around all that noise). Your puppy will be the most popular person of the evening, which he/she will love. If you do have your pup, make sure you have someone who is willing to help gold them, and make sure they are happy the whole night, and clean up their messes.

If your doggy isn't the best around crowds, or you can't let her come to the wedding, you can always have her there in spirit! Have your guest book be your pub, or your cake toppers replicas of your animals! You can also have them be part of your table numbers, whether it's an outline of them, or a picture you took of them with the table number around their neck (so cute!) Etsy has so many options that are doggy inspired, and when they are handmade you can make sure they look just like your dog! I will want a cake topper that has both by kittys and doggy when I get married (Yes I sound like I'm 12)

Gifts are a great way to show your love of pooches, without them being there! One option is to give each guest a doggy bag for a gift, and give money to a local animal charity. You can also have baskets or gift bags with dog friendly gifts and treats. Or you can have drink stirrers with dogs on them or for my favorite idea, knitted doggies! You can give guests a DIY kit so they can make their own doggies (how cute!)

SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Green Wedding Shoes} Modern Ocean Wedding

Eeeek!!! So excited that one of our Rebecca Schoneveld dresses is featured on Green Wedding Shoes! These blue bridal separates are such a fun look for a unique bride!! Anyway, we were so beyond thrilled when Jade + Matthew and Andrea of Gray Harper Event Maker approached us to borrow a dress for an editorial they were doing at one of Savannah's newest restaurants and venues, The Florence. If ya'll haven't been to The Florence yet then I would definitely recommend doing so as soon as possible. This venue is pretty badass, with its unique light fixtures, funky atmosphere, sophisticated menu and awesome events (a few months back the Wes Anderson Meatball & Movie Nights were going on and was maybe one of my favorite date nights I've ever experienced.) I could go on about why I think you should check this out but on to the other fabulous vendors that made up this Modern Ocean shoot. Andrea did the planning, design and florals, Lavender & Honey provided paper goods & the yummy looking naked cake, Stephanie over at Savannah Vintage Rentals provided that awesome door backdrop (which we can't wait to use for a wedding by the way..), calligraphy by LowCountry Paper Co., the bridesmaids rocked dresses from Custard Boutique (a must stop shop in historic Savannah), and the lovely ladies were made up by Dollface by Jules and Wicked Lulu. All in all, huge thank you to Jade + Matthew and Andrea for using our dress in this shoot!! Ya'll did such a stunning job putting together everything!!! And now head on over to Green Wedding Shoes to check out more!!!

THOUGHTS TUESDAY: Neon Wedding + Ash and Light

Want a bold look for your wedding? Add a pop of neon! It's such a fun way to add some color, and be a little daring! Now neon can be overwhelming so here are a few tips:

1. Limit your number of bridesmaids. If you have more then 4 or so bridesmaids, it's going to be an overwhelming amount of neon next to you, and super distracting. These gowns by Ash + Light are the perfect neon dresses, not too bright, and definitely re-wearable! We will have these gowns, plus an awesome styling session, May 3rd. Get tickets to it here!

2. Are you loving neon, but maybe not for bridesmaids? How about a pop of color in your signature drinks! You can easily do a hot pink drink with cranberry and oranges!

3. Add neon accents in your decor! You can add a pop of color in your flowers, on your cake, or even hanging from the ceiling! This way you can pick and choose what colors you have and where you have them. One of our favorite ideas are these succulents with hot pink rocks! You can have these as escort cards, or favors!

BRIDESMAIDS MONDAY: Celia Grace

One of the coolest and funnest dresses of our Celia Grace trunk show is the Marie Dress! From first glance she looks like a normal lace gown, with a gorgeous tear drop lace pattern. But she has a secret! She is actually a convertible dress! The bottom half of her dress comes off to reveal a super cute short number, plus her train can also be removed! This gown you can really wear again after your wedding, and give it a second life! (honeymoon dress anyone?) We will have Marie, plus her newest collection, through this Saturday, April 25th ONLY! So just a few more days! We are almost booked for this Saturday, so set up an appointment online!

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Hot Pink and Black Floral

One fun way to bring a pop of color to your wedding is with a print! We love floral print bridesmaids dresses, especially for Spring and Summer. You can do so many colors, that can match any color scheme, from soft pastels, to bold colors. Today we picked this Ash + Light dress, with turquoise, orange, hot pink and black. A super summery palate! We will have this awesome bridesmaids dress, along with an expert team of stylers, to show you how to style your bridesmaids looks May 3rd for our Ash + Light Styling Event! This is a fun time for your and your girls to style, and try on some great jewelry from Chloe + Isabel! Get your tickets here!

DESIGNER FEATURE: Rebecca Schoneveld

One of our favorite designers is Rebecca Schoneveld. When we saw her gowns at our first trip to market, we were stunned. We knew right then, right there, we had to add her to the store. And we are so glad we did! She is one of our top designers, and brides fall in love with her as soon as they try her gowns on. She is constantly a favorite! Her gowns are handmade in Brooklyn from the finest fabrics, and she isn't afraid to play with color, like blue and blush! Her dresses are romantic, they emphasize a women's natural beauty. They make you feel gorgeous, and like a true bride.

We are so excited to be hosting a trunk show with all of Rebecca's 2015 gowns April 10th - 12th! Appointments are filling up quickly, so make sure to set yours up before they are gone!

GOWNS WE LOVE: Rebecca Schoneveld Rosaline

Oh Rosaline. From the first time we saw her at our first Bridal Market we fell in love. Everything about her is perfect. From her soft lace appliques, button detail down the back, and the most stunning back on a dress we have ever seen. We LOVE the sheer lace detail, and our brides do too! She is the perfect southern lady, and works both in a church or outside by large oak trees.

We will have all of Rebecca Schoneveld's new collection April 10th - 12th ONLY! We are already booking fast with appointments, so make sure to give us a call and set yours up!
