SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Hushed Commotion Bridal Accessories + a Holiday Party

Holidays are coming up. Which means holiday parties are also coming up. Which means time to purchase a new party dress? Maybe some sparkly heels? Glitter tights? All of the above? Last year we styled a mini bridal accessories shoot with Mackensey Alexander and Beyond Beautiful by Heather at Ships of the Sea Museum. We wanted to come up with some stylish ways for brides to re-use their bridal accessories during the holidays. One of my favorites was this pearl and sparkly sash by Hushed Commotion. To shop our bridal accessories click here to schedule an appointment!!

Happy Holidays ya'll!

SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Swooned} Writ in the Stars: A Mystic Styled Shoot with Art Nouveau Influences

Love that our very first styled shoot at Cohen's Retreat was up on Swooned yesterday!! This shoot was so fun to style since it was so different from anything else we have ever done. The shoot was inspired by moons, stars, tarot cards with an art nouveau influence. For the shoot we used one of our favorite Sarah Seven dresses that has a silvery sequin beaded top. Mackensey Alexander photographed the details of the shoot, which featured a handmade moon backdrop by us, flowers by Madame Chrysanthemum, chargers + Silverware from Set Event Rentals, chair rentals from Rentiquity, and other decor details from Simply Southern Wedding. In addition, we had a yummy cake by Lulu's Chocolate Bar and calligraphy details by Kaitlin Slattery. Amber Veatch Designs helped with styling the tablescape and last but not least Beyond Beautiful by Heather did hair and makeup for our lovely models! Anyway, huge thank you to Swooned for featuring our styled shoot and huge thank you to all the amazing vendors who helped make this vision a reality!!! Also, we look forward to our first ever wedding at Cohen's Retreat this weekend!!!

This was such a fun and natural shoot that we did, huge thank you to our interns, Shelby + Alison, for making the bouquet + helping wrap rocks for our rock chandelier!! Beyond Beautiful by Heather did the hair + makeup of our model, Zoe.. and I love how she used that headpiece made by Adrienna (which of course I had to rock later on a hot date...) The Creative Porcupine made the fun gems + rocks inspired stationary and Rum Runners made those ridiculously delicious sugar cookies + cupcakes with rock candy... which were seriously way too good... I definitely had a belly ache after eating all those... But anyway, thank you again everyone!!!

{STYLED SHOOT} Bohemian Fondue

Sometimes you have styled shoots + you have unruly misbehaving models... this was a good example of one. Our flower girl model would not stop eating our food (meant as props).... But really. She was trying to eat an entire loaf of bread... she ate all the strawberries + she kept eating the pineapple too... Good thing she is super ridiculously adorable so it kind of made up for it. This bohemian fondue shoot was our very first shoot we did featuring our bridal gowns from our boutique + it was such a blast!!!! Teresa of Memories n More photographed our faux bride wearing a Sarah Seven and a Rebecca Schoneveld gown with accessories by Hushed CommotionSara Jane Boutique lent us the adorable dress, furry vest + headpiece. The Creative Porcupine designed the fondue menus for the shoot + they were super adorable!!! Beyond Beautiful by Heather did the hair + makeup of the model who was also her sister!!! Doesn't she look like a goddess or a fairy!?!? Adrienna + I crafted the teepee (which now sits in the corner of our shop!) This shoot was also just featured on The Lovely Find so make sure you go on over to check out the feature there!!! Thank you to all the awesome vendors who were apart of this shoot!!

We are super excited that we are working with her again on a collaboration this weekend with Mackensey Alexander for Ruffled Blog! So excited to share all the images of our mini styled shoot with Mackensey Alexander + Beyond Beautiful by Heather at Ships of the Sea Museum with our Hushed Commotion bridal accessories!!! For this styled shoot we wanted to show brides how their bridal accessories can be worn even after the wedding... So we put together a mini holiday party inspiration with Heather. Heather made over our gorgeous model and did a few different looks with the hair, makeup and accessories to show some different options!! What is your favorite look? My favorite is the pearl + gold sash being used as a headband... Such a simple glamorous look to spice up your holiday party attire!!! Thank you to Storyboard Weddings for featuring our styled shoot on their website + even huger thank you to all the vendors who helped out with this shoot!!!

SIMPLY PUBLISHED: Storyboard Wedding

Eeeeek!!!! Today we are featured on Storyboard Wedding! This was our first styled shoot with our inventory from our boutique!! When we received our bridal accessories from Hushed Commotion we decided we wanted to do something funky and fun with them even though we didn't even have any bridal gowns yet!! The shoot featured a gold birdcage, a gold headpiece, several sashes, Adrienna's handmade furry vest + a holiday inspired bouquet made with help from Shelby + Alison, our amazing interns. We contacted Heather of Beyond Beautiful about doing a mini shoot that used our bridal accessories in a way that showed how bridal accessories can be used even after the wedding. Mackensey Alexander captured our model showing a few different looks at the gorgeous Ships of the Sea Museum. Thank you everyone who helped out + especially the model who was probably freezing cold while modeling for us! And thank you so much to Jessica at Storyboard Wedding for featuring our mini shoot!!!!!!

{STYLED SHOOT} Romantic + Dramatic at Brockington Hall

I am thrilled to finally share this styled shoot on the blog!!! This shoot was so fun because it was so different from my "normal wedding style," but I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to do something more glamorous, romantic and elegant yet also dark and dramatic... At the same time I also wanted to somehow bring in some fun elements of things that I like to make it a little different (insert black winged horse + hanging installation here). And I am so excited with how it turned out!!! Heather of Beyond Beautiful did two amazing hair and makeup looks. The first was very soft, romantic yet at the same time it was still different. The unique updo is something so totally different I have never seen done, and it looked so stunning with the corset ballgown from BleuBelle Bridal. The second look was a more edgy romantic look, which was definitely my favorite look. I loved how both looks were something different, not your everyday bridal look. I think the edgier look would be so elegant for your wedding makeup. Any brides out there brave enough to do something dramatic like that??? The second look was pulled together with a Nicole Miller gown from BleuBelle Boutique and the black collar necklace is owned by moi.

For the tablescape I wanted mostly black elements and so I decided to try layering black on black. All of the plates, chargers and silverware were a DIY project in my garage, along with the winged horse. In Any Event provided me with the black tablecloth. For the flowers I wanted to do something big, large, and dramatic. The black urn I used for the centerpiece ended up being so big that I actually ran out of flowers about halfway through and had to go purchase more to fill it. For the bouquet I wanted something romantic, soft and simple so I just used some garden roses and greenery. Laura Lavender did all the calligraphy on the invitations and escort cards. I love how dramatic the white calligraphy is on the black paper. She did such a great job!!! And due to some snafus with the mail service... she actually drove several hours to get to the shoot on time... THANK YOU. It pulled together the table perfectly!

Now to my absolute favorite part of this shoot... the hanging roses installation. I kind of have this weird obsession with hanging things from stuff. And when Melissa at Brockington Hall gave me permission I was kind of jumping with joy. It took me almost an hour probably to hang all the roses, but it was so worth it... and if asked to hang one hundred roses from a chandelier, I will gladly say yesssss please choose me. The cake was provided by Thrive A Carry Out Cafe. I had a vision, and I knew that I wanted the cake to be all black... and they were so amazing and went with it. Thank you Katherine for working with me on this to make it happen!! Other big thank you to Melissa and Lee at Brockington Hall!!! Ya'll are the sweetest ever and your house is absolutely breathtaking. Such a perfect place for a wedding! And thanks Shannon for the photos! Now I hope ya'll enjoy!!
