SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Ruffled} Double the Ruffle, Double the Fun --> Bohemian Botany + Happy Halloween!

Ruffled is one of my favorite of the favorites wedding blogs and so we are so excited that we were featured twice this week on this blog with 2 of our favorite shoots!!! The first was our Bohemian Botanical styled shoot with Izzy Hudgins at Coastal Botanical Bamboo Gardens. For this shoot we randomly one day decided Botany + Tree huggers. And then we went from there incorporating hundreds of vintage antique botany illustrations with a science hipster theme. We DIYed a living Palette wall for a tutorial featured here. For the centerpiece we wanted to do something hanging and so we had Grace Graffiti make us a custom test tube chandelier. Colonial House of Flowers went above and beyond on styling the florals for this shoot. When we saw the final outcome we were blown away literally with the massive size of the chandelier with the hanging moss and greenery. It was just wow. Leslie Miller of Leslie Miller Design was our bride model who also is an amazing bead artist who provided the groom's bow tie, bridal sash and necklace. For the shoot she rocked 2 looks: the first an Alvina Valenta gown and the second a Rebecca Schoneveld blue top with a high-low Love Found True skirt. Last but not least we madeover our Ikea table into a chalkboard and also made a ceremony backdrop as a chalkboard. This was a fun shoot. So so fun. Thank you for the feature Ashley!!!!!

The second shoot featured was our Oddities + Skulls styled shoot with Rach Lea at the Old Dairy Farm, which is the perfect shoot to celebrate the Halloween holiday. We started with my best friend, Rachel, who wanted to model for us. We were inspired by her tattoos to do something weird, funky and animal related. We incorporated taxidermy props from Graveface Records & Curiosities and funky mugs, flatware and other table props from The Paris Market for a darker look. For the flowers we used Savannah moss and dark weird floral elements. Rachel was given a faux hawk by Milan Day Spa and dark makeup by Lindsey Wirht and wore an asymmetrical dress from our designer, Faith Thornburg. The stationary and fox masks were by Shelby Bittinger. The best part about this shoot other than the boa constrictor and the pitbull, which were our guy model's pets is most definitely the spooky video by videographer CINEMoBIUS... head on over to Ruffled to check out the entire feature plus the spooky video... you may be frightened, consider this your warning.

Anyway, hope you all have a fabulous Halloween!!!! I myself am dressing up as a gold dinosaur of course and Adrienna will be a cat dressed up as a unicorn.

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Truvelle Trunk Show + Rose Gold

One of our last Trunk Shows of the year is Truvelle! We had her show in the Spring, and we can't wait to have another one this fall! Her gowns are such a huge hit, and we know Savannah brides will love them! One of Truvelle's signatures are their use of rose gold sequins. First seen in the Eden gown, Gaby, the designer, has brought the popular rose gold into her new Sierra gown. We will have her new 2015 collection

SIMPLY ENGAGED: Christina + Greg

We love our couples here at Ivory and Beau, and engagement sessions are the perfect way for them to show their personalities! Christina and Greg are so perfect together (check out their responses to how they met! We love the giant babies comment Christina made) They both knew they were the ones for each other the moment they met. We are so excited for their wedding next March here in Savannah, and we know she is going to be a gorgeous bride (I mean look at her! Stunning!!) Thank you to Jeff and Mollie Weddings for taking these amazing pictures, with hair and makeup by Michelle Royal!

Engaged:
February 23rd 2013 in St. Croix USVI

How + where they met:
Christina's version:
After a long day of work, my co-workers convinced me to meet them at Ernie Biggs in Westport to unwind. Around midnight, my life would forever change when a handsome, tall gentleman walked into the bar. I remember the first conversation Greg and I had went something like this:
Me: "You and I would have GIANT babies.” (FYI: I’m 5’11’’ and Greg is 6’8’')
Greg: "I didn't ask to have your babies, I asked you to dinner."
We talked the rest of the night (my friends would tell you I was already referring to him as my 'boyfriend' before the night ended) and he did, in fact, take me to dinner the next evening. I was his date to the wedding he was in town for the following night and he changed his flight and stayed in KC an extra day to spend time with me. Two weeks later he flew back to KC for our 'second' official date (and to meet all of my family)! Though by then, I had already told my parents I knew he was 'the one.

Greg's version:
I was in Kansas City for my friends' wedding. The Thursday night before, several of us went out to celebrate his waning bachelorhood. After a memorable evening at Jack Stack BBQ and Ameristar Casino, we headed to Westport and made our way into Ernie Biggs Dueling Piano Bar. The place could have been packed to the rafters and still the first and only thing I would've noticed would've been Christina. In the most important, yet simplest, decision I've ever made, I promptly walked over to her and her friends and we began talking. Needless to say, we hit it off immediately. Before we even went to dinner the very next evening (for our first date on March 22), I told my mother I was smitten. On Saturday she joined me at Ben and Rachel's wedding and only two weeks later I returned to Kansas City and met her family. A few weeks after that, we took our first trip together to Savannah and began our romance with the city that continues to our wedding day.

The Proposal:
We had planned a trip to St. Croix for a much needed beach getaway. The second day we were there, Greg took me to Sandy point, one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen! (For those who have seen the Shawshank Redemption, it’s the beach that was used to film the final scene in the movie). We walked along the beach and found ourselves a ‘spot’.  The whole time Greg was trying to propose (telling me sweet things) I thought he was trying to reassure me (as I had been trying to get him to give me a date for some time now so I could start planning!). He kept telling me he loved me and how he couldn’t wait to spend the rest of his life with me and I just kept saying, ‘I know, me too…I love you, too…’. Finally, he pulled out a ring box and asked if I would marry him. The first thing I said was, ‘Are you serious?' Quickly followed by a ‘yes’ of course! We’d talked about marriage since the beginning of our relationship, so while I wasn’t surprised he asked, I wasn’t exactly expecting it at that moment either!

Why Savannah?
Seeing Greg lived in Houston and I lived in Kansas City, we dated long distance for the first year of our relationship.  The first city we met was Savannah.  It’s safe to say we not only fell in love with each other there, but also with the city.  We’re excited to share one of our favorite cities with our friends and family!

Wedding Date:
March 22, 2015.
We chose this day as it’s the third year anniversary from the day we met!

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
Celebrating the day with our closet friends and family.  Greg says 'the moment he first sees me enter the church and walk down the aisle toward him.'

SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Borrowed & Blue} Boudoir Session with Moment for Life Photography

I kind of seriously love how Candace at Moment for Life Photography used our bridal separates for a sexy boudoir session at Brockington Hall. She paired a lacy Rebecca Schoneveld top with a tulle Love Found True skirt for a sexy look that is so fun. Its perfect timing that this was featured on Borrowed & Blue yesterday since this past weekend we had an adorable bride come in looking for her dress for her wedding on the beach in Puerto Rico and this look is exactly what she wants. She was loving an off the shoulder lacy top from Rebecca Schoneveld with nothing underneath but a sexy bra and then paired it with a slim fitting Rebecca Schoneveld skirt. I just think this look is so fun and so fabulous for the confident and sexy bride. Check out the entire feature here! And thank you Candace for capturing our dresses so sexily!!!

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Bridal Separates + Rebecca Schoneveld Trunk Show

We are so excited for our upcoming Rebecca Schoneved trunk show! One of our favorite parts of Rebecca's collection are her bridal separates. With this line you can mix and match pieces to create your perfect dress, which is the best way to customize. It's amazing how much you can change the look of a dress with just an extra layer of lace! The top item our brides have been asking for are lace sleeves, and Rebecca has plenty to choose from! Today we have some of her top styles, and show how they can change the look of two dresses. From a long sleeve over an all lace gown, to an off the shoulder piece, all of them can be removed later, so once you start partying you can take it off and let loose!

We are almost booked for the trunk show, so make sure to set up your appointment now! 912-200-4794

THOUGHTS TUESDAY #11: Long Sleeves are In

We are listening to you brides and we are going to act on everything we are hearing that you want. And the #1 thing right now? Long sleeves, long sleeves, long sleeves. Even my best friend who is coming to shop with us is obsessed with long sleeves and its a must have for her wedding dress. And this coming weekend through the 25th we have 3 events going on with some really awesome long sleeve wedding dress options. [Side note: did you know if we have a designer coming up at a Trunk Show or Pop-Up Shop you can request specific dresses + we will contact our designers directly to see if we can get it in just for you to try on. We are all about helping you find the dress of your dreams!!] Back to my blog post though... so we are loving long sleeves and according to the brides who have been coming into our shop, so are ya'll. So today I'm going to share 3 of my absolute favorite long sleeve wedding dresses we will have this upcoming weekend! But that's not all, we will have more options available and to schedule an appointment you can call (912)200-4794, e-mail ivoryandbeau@gmail.com or click here!

1. Karen Willis Holmes Bridal will be at the shop Sat October 18th - Sat October 25th. Her dresses are for the sexy bride who wants to also show a hint of her feminine side on her wedding day. This dress, Arielle, is one of my absolute favorites from her Bespoke Collection and we cannot wait to have it at the shop for brides to try on!! With the low dip in the front to the soft lace with floral appliques it is just so so pretty.

2. Oh Rebecca Schoneveld, how we love you and your bridal separates which give brides so many options to create their perfect dress. The Brooke long sleeve lace overlay is made of the softest lace and perfect for the bride who really wants to show off her girly and feminine side on her wedding day. This look is elegant and timeless. Rebecca Schoneveld's Trunk Show is only going on Thurs October 16th through Sat October 18th and her collection features some awesome bridal separate options. So if you are interested in a couture custom look without spending the money necessary for a couture custom dress then this Trunk Show is the perfect time to come shop with us.

3. For the rocker chic bride, & For Love's Celestine long sleeve lace gown is a little more edgy with a thicker lace pattern, a higher neckline and a looser fit. I am obsessed with the scalloped lace and low back detail and the low cut in the front covered by the lace. It is sexy and badass to me all at the same time. We will also have this collection Sat October 18th through Sat October 25th for those brides looking for an edgier bridal gown.

What do you think of long sleeve lace wedding dresses? Which look is your favorite? We love to hear your feedback and we hope to see you in our shop soon to try on some of these beautiful gowns!

THOUGHTS TUESDAY#10: New York Bridal Market

I'm writing this, like usual, not really on a Tuesday but rather on Wednesday October 1st. But I feel it just makes sense to write this now since well, I was inspired to write it now and well, it's officially October. So as I sip on my chai tea latte outside at Sentient Bean overlooking Forsyth Park while my dog Winnie is laying lazily on the ground looking mopey as usual I decided time to write this blog post. Bridal Market. To anyone in the bridal boutique industry this is kind of like Christmas. Its the time of year where all the bridal designers travel to New York to showcase their new Spring 2015 bridal collections and where all the bridal boutique owners also travel to New York to see the new collections. And it is so exciting and so fun and so magical. I can't even begin to tell you how many hours Adrienna + I spend pouring over bridal designers websites looking at bridal dresses we are interested in... and then looking again... and again... and again... and then looking again and printing out pictures of our favorites. I imagine its the similar feeling a little girl gets looking through Bridal Magazines imagining what her dream wedding will be twenty years from then. It never gets old. Because there are always new dresses to look at. And Bridal Market is just... magical. So today I am on here solely to reminisce and tell you all the reasons why I love Bridal Market. And along for the ride are some lovely sneak peek images of dresses that we are loving from our designers and highly considering adding to Ivory + Beau's permanent inventory so feel free to leave a comment below on which ones you are loving!! [Disclaimer: We will be open while we are in NYC. Adrienna's mom and our amazing intern, McKenzie, will be holding down the fort! We will have Alvina Valenta Spring 2014 bridesmaids for your girls to try on as well as our bridal gowns during this time so please do not hesitate to schedule an appointment, they will take good care of you while we are gone! To schedule something you can call (912)200-4794, e-mail ivoryandbeau@gmail.com or click here! We are almost completely booked for Friday and Saturday so make sure and schedule sooner rather than later!] So now, for my 3 top reasons why I love Bridal Market and am beyond excited for the crazy hectic scheduled weekend we have.

1. Meeting big name bridal designers is like meeting a celebrity (well, to me it is.) Last year the biggest name designer we met in person was Sarah Seven. (Not that our other designers aren't serious rockstars because ya'll are trust me.) I can still remember being so enchanted when meeting her. This designer has made a serious name for herself. She is all over the blogs. Her dresses are amazing. She is everywhere. So much that there does exist such a thing as a "Sarah Seven bride." That's kind of a big deal. And meeting her to me was kind of a big deal and so cool. Now if only Lauren Conrad would make her bridesmaids collection available wholesale so we could buy it and I could meet her... then my life would be complete. Kate Pankoke, of Elaya Vaughn Bridal and Project Runway, was another one who would have felt like a celebrity meeting; however, I had already met her previously in Savannah when she hired me as her Day-Of Coordinator. This year we get to **hopefully** meet some of my other favorite designers.. Miss Hayley Paige, Jessica Williams of Alvina Valenta/Ti Adora, and more... [Seriously you need to follow us on Instagram if you're not already, I will be posting mad Instagram sneak peeks of all thats going on at market so get ready... plus I just bought a jet pack for my phone so it won't die so bring on the picture Instagramming madness!!!]

2. Dresses. Dresses. More dresses. And even more dresses. This is kind of the overwhelming part but is definitely the fun part. Can you imagine being a buyer at Bridal Market? No? Well that's okay here is how it goes... Meeting with a designer. Having 30 minutes with the designer. Checking out their new collection of dresses. Sometimes getting to have their model try on the dresses, sometimes only getting to see the dresses on the hangers. Snapping pictures on your iPhone of the dresses you like. Scribbling notes of your favorites. Trying to think what would be popular, what will sell, what brides want. And time. NEXT designer lets go. Run, run, run, hail taxi, sit in traffic anxiously awaiting our next designer meeting location, scramble, scramble and go meet the next designer and do it all again. Then day over. Time to look back at your terrible pictures on your iPhone, your scribbled almost illegible notes and trying to figure out okay... which dresses did we really love, which dresses will brides also really love, which dresses we actually want in our store... To say its a little overwhelming is an understatement. But you know... it's overwhelming in a really good way. So this year, we only have 2 days at market basically since we have a wedding on Sunday. And our appointments are scattered all over NYC instead of at the Pier 94 in the same place like last year. So we plan to hone our taxi hailing skills, write a little faster and a little better of notes, and well just be general badasses all around. That being said we also plan to do a whole lot of prep work before we go. I am excited ya'll, so so excited.

3. New York, New York. I'm not going to lie because I just don't lie.... but I hated New York. I hated hated hated New York so much, until last year when we went to Bridal Market. And then I fell in love with New York. Is that weird? I think that's weird. I love New York when I'm there for work but I hate it when I'm there for vacation. That's just not normal but it's the truth. I loved being there for a purpose. Having a mission. Being involved in the hustle and bustle of this city that really seriously never sleeps and is always moving at a pace so fast that you can finally really understand what in the world a New York minute is because its fast. So fast. The bustle of the city is not annoying when you are also bustling. I think that has to be it. It was just a fabulous, adrenaline filled experience and I cannot wait to get back there for work this year. 9 days to go. Or well, 2 days to go since the post isn't going live until 2 days before we leave.

Alright, so with all that said I am going to open this up with questions in hopes someone will comment on this post... so we want to know: What do you want to see at Ivory + Beau? Specific fabrics? Long sleeves? More mermaids? More ballgowns? More lace? Tell us. We love your feedback seriously. That's all, thanks folks for reading!!!!!!

SIMPLY INSPIRED: A cave wedding + Rebecca Schoneveld Trunk Show

Words can't express how excited we are for our upcoming trunk show!!! We have been waiting all year to host Rebecca Schoneveld, and her show is finally here! We could go on for days about how much we love Rebecca, but we will just leave it at this: her dresses are perfection. They are gorgeous, and her attention to detail is impeccable. Every time we see one of her dresses we fall in love! Her Gemma gown is no exception! With her 1930's inspired silhouette, deep v neck and back, and all over champagne beading, she is a show stopper. Gemma would be perfect for a candlelight wedding, with the sparkles of the dress catching every light. Once we saw this image of Gemma by Theodoros Chilapas we were in awe!

We will have the complete Rebecca Schoneveld collection October 17th - 20th ONLY! This show is by appointment only, and our Saturday's book up quick. So make sure to call us to set yours up! 912-200-4794

BRIDAL LOOKBOOK 1.0 {part 4} Rebecca Schoneveld

Oh Rebecca Schoneveld how you hold our hearts. We saw Rebecca at Market after meeting with Jaclyn Jordan, who said go to Rebecca, and we were instantly oohing, aahing and head over heels in love. We wanted everything. We loved her. We gushed and she just laughed at us thinking we were silly. But anyway, we love her pieces. They are all handmade in Brooklyn, New York with an impeccable attention to detail. Her dresses are made of the finest, softest fabrics and are so romantic and pretty. In addition to her fabulous dresses, Rebecca also makes bridal separates. So brides can hand pick the top that fits them best there with the skirt that flows just right. So anyway here are all the images from our Bridal Lookbook 1.0 with Izzy Hudgins. Hair and makeup by Michelle Royal and accessories from Apricot Lane. To see the other designers: Sarah SevenElaya Vaughn and Faith Thornburg. And to shop Rebecca Schoneveld, call us at (912)200-4794, e-mail ivoryandbeau@gmail.com or click here!!
