{Bright Idea Thursday} SIMPLY DIY: Gold Animals

I know this idea is probably going to be a little out there for some of you, but that's just my style. And I know you might even be thinking this is not a bright idea, but instead this is a really dumb silly idea for kids. But if you haven't already caught on to me then let me tell you I like love things that aren't what everyone is doing. And if I can do something that is going to make people go really? You did that? Then I am succeeding at being Nicole. And if I can do something that makes people go I cannot believe you did that/bought that/whatever but now I really want to do it/buy it too. Then I am seriously succeeding at being Nicole. And if you are wondering if I have any of these in my house the answer is yes, yes I do and if you are wondering if I felt silly spending $15 on toy dinosaurs the answer is nope, but probably only because my friend Rachel was there... and embarrassing her made it all worth it. So, I think this is a totally fun way to add some gold + some quirkiness to your wedding decor. And I think it's just something fun for guests to talk about. Plus afterwards why not keep them as a keepsake and put them in your home? If my friend had gold toy animals all over her wedding then you can bet I would be hoarding those. And then I'd most likely go home + hide them in the most random places so when my boyfriend opens up his underwear drawer he will be like seriously Nicole? Seriously I cannot believe you did this. But seriously thanks for making me forget to put on underwear because I got too distracted at the toy dinosaur in my underwear drawer. And to be completely honest you can bet your pretty dollar that I will have gold animals at my wedding. Preferably dinosaurs although maybe it would make more sense if they were desert animals like snakes and coyotes since obviously my wedding will be in the desert. Alright, enjoy this pretty little inspiration filled with pretty little gold animals. Happy Thursday ya'll. Oh + before I end my mindless rambling... this Sunday I am getting together with some of the most awesome vendors in town who totally love crazy unique stuff like this + together we have put together basically a really awesome inspiration shoot. So stay posted for some super fun awesome sneak peaks! Follow me on Facebook for all the inside scoop!

On a side note... can you tell I've been cooped up in my girl cave all day? I start to ramble lots and attempt to be silly when I spend too much time alone. It's a Nicole thing I guess.

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Pink & Romantic

I'm not sure blush pink and light shades of pink will ever get old to me. Although I did once feel the same way about hot pink... But blush pink is soooo pretty & romantic & soft & lovely. Don't you think? And how amazing would it be to have a floral wedding swing at your wedding? Just saying...

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Lemons & Oranges and A Business Announcement

Flowers are not cheap. I just ordered all the flowers for the styled shoot we have scheduled for this weekend... I cannot explain in words how excited/anxious/nervous I am! Anyway, back to the flowers... not cheap. Not one bit. But lemons & oranges are cheap. And colorful. See where I am going with this? I am not going to lie... this idea was inspired by some of the Instagram pictures I saw today from Engage 12. I am so envious of all the wedding industry professionals that got to attend! I will go next year!

On a somewhat related note... I have a business announcement to make. Simply Savannah Events is going to be getting completely re-branded. I know I have changed it a lot so far and you may be wondering why I keep changing it basically on the monthly... well, the truth is I attempted to design a logo and look that I love but was unable to achieve what I really wanted. So, I have made the decision to work with a professional and get branded! I am super excited to get the process started and after looking at lots of companies I have chosen to work with Molly Jacques (seriously check out her work---incredible). We will be getting started on everything in February but I wanted to get you guys excited because this is a huge step in my career & the branding of the company! Enough of my blabbing... now time for some fruit & wedding inspiration!

SIMPLY WED: Elizabeth & Joe

Elizabeth & Joe's wedding was awhile ago but I am so excited to be able to share the professional photographs from their big day done by Dragonfly Photography! Their wedding was so fun to be a part of because it brings me back to the days of working at the Mansion on Forsyth Park. When I first moved to Savannah that was my first job and without it I doubt I would have moved as soon as I did. I can still remember standing at the hostess stand watching the brides & grooms get tours around the Mansion and I would daydream of being a full-time wedding planner helping brides and grooms with their special day. It seems like so long ago now and I am so excited at how much things have changed! Anyway, Elizabeth and Joe had a gorgeous ceremony at the Whitefield Chapel at Bethesda Academy and then the reception followed at the Mansion. I loved the personal touches they used at their reception from the glass tree made by a family member to the photographs of them taken around town used for each of the centerpieces. It was a gorgeous special day with lots of dancing & fun. Congratulations to the newlyweds!! :)

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Taylor Swift's "RED"

I am so that person who went and bought Taylor Swift's CD on iTunes the day it came out. I've loved Taylor Swift for the longest time. Although I do have to say I still think her Fearless album is better than any of the other ones... But I still do enjoy some Taylor Swift time. I must say though... I kind of feel like she is a 14 year old girl writing songs. Doesn't mean they're not catchy though. And I have to say my favorite track on the album is "Stay Stay Stay." I think it's such a sweet song and sometimes I feel like Taylor Swift songs are normally about bad break-ups so since I'm in a happy loving relationship I just don't get in the mood to hear stuff like that... Anyway, I loved this magazine cover of her on Glamour and was loving the gold and red color combination and think it would be so absolutely gorgeous for some wedding inspiration! I hope you enjoy! :)

{Sneak Peak} SIMPLY WED: Courtney & Harry {PART 2}

Finally, part 2 of Courtney & Harry's wedding behind the scene sneak peak! Make sure and check out part 1 here! I went a little photo crazy at Courtney & Harry's wedding on October 6th at the Roundhouse Railroad Museum. There were so many beautiful details & I just wanted to capture everything! I was pretty obsessed with the vignettes designed by Urban Poppy. How amazing are all these mismatched vases, teacups, etc. used to display different flowers & succulents (my favorite)! I loved it! It was an absolutely gorgeous event and I cannot wait to see the professional images from their big day! Another thing I was completely enamored by? The trains! I need to check this museum out during the day and spend time looking at each train! They were so neat! Anyway, congrats to Courtney & Harry! You both are a lovely couple!

SIMPLY BRIDESMAIDS: Leaves

This week's Friday Fancies theme link-up with AV at Long Distance Loving is leaves. I figured that leaves might not be a good inspiration for bridal fashion, but why not bridesmaids? These are some dresses I think would be perfect bridesmaids styles for a fall wedding. Which look is your favorite?

{Bright Idea Thursday} Wine Themed Wedding

Your guest will sign your favorite bottles of wine instead of a traditional guest book, and on your milestone anniversaries you can drink the wine and read your guests' well wishes. What a great way to be able to reminisce about your wedding day, and have an eternal keepsake as well. EVCreations custom create special labels to put on your wine bottles, design a coordinated instruction sign for the guest book table, and give you a special pen that will write on the wine bottles. You will have everything you need to have a unique guest book at your wedding....all you need to do is add the wine.

Easy centerpieces: footed glass hurricane with wine bottle corks. Idea from BH&G Sept. 2011

Mason Jar Wine Glasses - Redneck Version ($14. each buy 2 or more $13. each)

{Bright Idea Thursday} Scrabble Inspirations

As promised here are my Scrabble wedding inspiration ideas! Scrabble has always been one of my mom's favorite board games. Although it is hard for me to win, since she beats me most of the time! Our family has enjoyed this entertaining bonding time together that creates spirited competitive sportsmanship between my mother, brother, Alyssa (my brother's girlfiend who is undoubtedly the unsurpassed Scrabble champion) and I.

Did you know that Facebook and iPhones have an Apps for Scrabble? Plus you can go online to Scrabble's website to use their dictionary, get tips, learn the word of the day, or buy your own board game.

These ideas are great for a game night with friends, engagement party, or a rehearsal dinner, the placecards would be a whimsical addition to any table centerpiece setting. Scrabble tiles and trays can be purchased as replacement pieces so you don’t have to keep buying game sets. If you plan on using a lot of the Scrabble placecards, it would be helpful to affix the tiles to the tray with double-sided tape or a with hot glue to keep them from sliding off.
