SIMPLY WED: Lindsey and Nicholas

So excited to finally share Lindsey and Nicholas' wedding with ya'll. This beachy wedding that took place at the Tybee Wedding Chapel had a soft color palette of mint and peach was oh so pretty. Two Chics Photography was there to capture all the details of their big day. Side note, I am completely obsessed with those robes the bridal party got ready in and would not mind getting one for when I am a bridesmaid in my cat loving best friend's wedding (hint hint Rachel... cough cough.) Back to their wedding, the gorgeous couple had their first look down on the piers of Tybee. Lindsey and bridal party had their hair and makeup done by Beyond Beautiful by Heather and flowers were by A to Zinnias. The best part of their wedding was the surprise during the ceremony planned out by the groom... he actually serenaded Lindsey in the middle of their ceremony and wow he can sing. It was the sweetest moment and such a surprise for everybody. Afterwards the reception took place in the new addition to the Tybee Wedding Chapel with entertainment provided by All About You Entertainment and food/dessert from Thrive. The evening ended with sparklers and a kiss on the front steps of the chapel. Huge congratulations to the happy couple and thank you for choosing Ivory + Beau to be your day-of coordinators!!!

REAL BRIDES: Whitney & a WTOC-TV Feature

You guys. This made our day yesterday. Of course we love it when our brides send us pictures of them in their dress from our shop... but this was just the best ever. Our bride, Whitney, who wore a Nicole Miller gown sent us this news video from WTOC-TV featuring her in her wedding dress delayed while going over the bridge to her wedding on Tybee Island due to a boat fire. Seriously the best ever. And how absolutely stunning does she look!? Thank you Whitney for sharing with us and huge congratulations to you on your wedding day - so glad you made it there!!!!!

SIMPLY WED: Amanda + AJ

This wedding holds a very dear + special place in my heart because Amanda + AJ were the first ever clients to book me after I purchased the business from Layla Mayville... I can still remember talking to them on the phone and them telling me they were going to hire me and I ran around in circles jumping up and down crying I was so overwhelmed and excited! AND I even had the pleasure of doing their wedding flowers!! I don't know if they ever knew that but to me it was a very special moment. Anyway, enough about me! Amanda and AJ are that couple that you just look at and you can tell how absolutely ridiculously in love they are. They are so sweet and so loving and were an absolute joy to work with! They both are friendly, goofy, funny, and gracious people, I truly wish them an amazing marriage!!!! Check out more about their love story + the proposal here! Their engagement story actually helped them win free vintage rentals from Ever Thine Vintage Rentals

The beautiful images of their wedding at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel were taken by Life's Highlights. My favorite moment at their wedding was the video from Amanda's maid of honor. She unfortunately couldn't make the wedding but only because she was having a baby!!!!! Natalie got together with me before the wedding to plan some special surprises for Amanda. She videotaped her maid of honor speech which I played for them during the reception! There were some minor technical difficulties which was very embarrassing I must say but fortunately Amanda laughed it off and said it was for the better because it gave her a minute or two to compose herself and not cry as hard while watching it! I just absolutely love the images Life's Highlights were able to capture of that moment! It was so special and I was thrilled I got to help Natalie still be a part of the wedding!!!

This wedding party danced the night away and got DOWN. All About You DJed the event and did a fantastic job as always!! Beyond Beautiful by Heather made Amanda and her bridesmaids look absolutely stunning, right?! Last but not least, Joe's Homemade catered the event with the most delicious + fresh Southern cooking you did ever try.... All in all it was a beautiful event! I hope you enjoy the pictures!!!!

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Boho Beach Elopement

What do I do when I can't sleep? Make wedding mood boards for my clients obviously. This mood board is missing one color the bride is interested in (orange)... but you know sometimes when it's 3:30 in the morning and you're lethargic from being woken up after having nightmares and you just can't find the right inspiration photos to add into the mix so you just nix it in the board. Anyway, the colors for the elopement will be *tentatively* turquoise, orange + purple, which will be so gorgeous on the beach! But anyway, I am super excited for this intimate elopement! I am not going into any more details because well... if you know me then you know I absolutely love surprises!!!!! So like always, you'll just have to keep on following the blog to see the wedding after it's happened! Also, side note... big news coming this Sunday regarding the future of Simply Savannah Events! Stay tuned!!! OH and... giveaway details being posted on Sunday as well! Follow us on Facebook for updates!

{Sneak Peek} SIMPLY WED: Rachel + Zac

This last weekend we wrapped up wedding season with an adorable wedding on Tybee Island. I loved every last detail of this wedding, from the flowers, to the mismatched vases, to the Rifle Paper accessories, to the venue (Tybee Island Social Club), to the fabric garland, to the Eric Culberson band's music, to the bride's Claire Pettibone gown... So I just had to share some sneak peaks from my Instagram feed. Seriously ya'll... get ready for the most amazing peonies you have ever seen. A to Zinnias did a freaking fantastic job!!!!!! Hope you enjoy! And congratulations to newlyweds, Rachel + Zac!!

SIMPLY ENGAGED: Amanda + AJ

So are you ready to see the most precious thing ever!?!?!?! Amanda + AJ's proposal was captured on camera and is so adorable!! She sent me the link to their wedding website the other day and I was gushing over how cute these were + instantly had to ask if it was okay if I share them!! They are such a sweet and nice couple and talking to them on the phone the other night I just can't help but be so happy for them. They are fun and cheerful and make me laugh a lot... Also, I am so excited for Amanda + AJ's wedding because it's at none other than the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel, which is by far one of the cutest chapels in Savannah. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the chapel... it was actually built for the movie, The Last Song, featuring none other than Miley Cyrus. I have to say the only thing I can remember about that movie, besides the fact that it was dumb, was that at one point some sea turtles appear and all of a sudden me and my friends are all crying like babies. But enough about that... their wedding is this coming October and Amanda is going for a soft romantic look with lots of candlelight, I just know it's going to be absolutely gorgeous!! Thanks for letting us be a part of your big day!!

Engaged:
Sunday August 26th, 2012

How + Where They Met:
AJ & I met through our mutual friends, whom we lovingly refer to as "the Page sisters," out on the town one night in the Fall of 2009. We actually attended the same high school (different graduating years); however, didn't know each other back then.

The Proposal:
On August 26th, AJ planned a "photography lesson" with his friend and professional photographer, Joe Roberts, at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. Photography is a hobby of mine, so I was very excited to be getting a lesson from a pro. As we all arrived, security for the Republican National Convention (RNC) would not allow anyone in or around the park. AJ let a security guard in on the secret and was able to pass through with Joe and I in tow discussing photography. Unknown to me, AJ was walking to a specific brick paver with the lettering "Will You Marry Me?" inscribed on it. As he got to the brick, he pointed it out, got down on one knee and said, "Amanda, I love you to death, will you marry me?" And I replied "Are you serious?! OMG! YES!"

Why Tybee Island?
We are getting married at the Tybee Island Wedding Chapel, and could not be more thrilled about our venue choice! Tybee is beautiful, fun, and eclectic - just our speed! The chapel has a vintage and romantic feel; exactly what we want for our wedding day.

Wedding Date:
October 11th, 2013

What are you looking forward to most on your wedding day?
We are looking forward to committing ourselves to one another forever, before God and our family and friends. We feel blessed to have found each other in this crazy world!

Anything Else?
The first day of the rest of our lives together can't come soon enough! And we feel fortunate to have such a wonderful wedding planner to make it easier to plan this wedding from afar :)

{Real Wedding} Dani & Craig

Dani and Craig are such fun loving sweet people and wonderful to work with. Everyone was actually a joy to work with, their family and the vendors! The photographer, Andrea Mate, came in from Atlanta and did an amazing job with the crisp and flawless images. Carrie of Two Cakes, who is part of The Wedding Studios, created such an amazing sand castle cake with edible sea shells. Their wedding was very much a DIY since they brought recycled glass jars for all the table settings, they went to the flower wholesaler and each bridesmaid, along with the bride, made their own bouquets, and their family/friends helped along side me at the reception to decorate. Their style was perfect for a beach ceremony, plus their colors really popped! Thankfully, the rain on their wedding day waited just until the ceremony was over, all the pictures were taken and they were at the reception!! You can tell that everyone had a great time and hammed it up for the camera. Many people came in from the Atlanta area, where Dani & Craig originally met, but now the couple lives in Washington state. Have fun looking at their special day!
