SIMPLY BORROWED: Jade and Matthew Take Pictures + Rebecca Schoneveld

As you saw earlier this week, one of our dresses was featured on Green Wedding Shoes! Gray Harper Event Maker + Jade and Matthew teamed up to do a shoot at The Florence, a new restaurant and venue here in Savannah. The ceremony take place up on the rooftop deck, with rehearsal dinner and reception in the restaurant below. They wanted to do a blue sea theme, and wanted a blue dress (which of course we have!) They borrowed our Mia-Elizabeth by Rebecca Schoneveld, and it fit perfectly! We love the hair by Wicked Lulu and makeup by Dollface by Jules, especially the touch of pink lipstick and blush. I wish they could do my hair and makeup every day. The paper goods by Lavender & Honey are pretty amazing, and we especially love the sea glass calligraphy by Low Country Paper Co. SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Green Wedding Shoes} Modern Ocean Wedding

Eeeek!!! So excited that one of our Rebecca Schoneveld dresses is featured on Green Wedding Shoes! These blue bridal separates are such a fun look for a unique bride!! Anyway, we were so beyond thrilled when Jade + Matthew and Andrea of Gray Harper Event Maker approached us to borrow a dress for an editorial they were doing at one of Savannah's newest restaurants and venues, The Florence. If ya'll haven't been to The Florence yet then I would definitely recommend doing so as soon as possible. This venue is pretty badass, with its unique light fixtures, funky atmosphere, sophisticated menu and awesome events (a few months back the Wes Anderson Meatball & Movie Nights were going on and was maybe one of my favorite date nights I've ever experienced.) I could go on about why I think you should check this out but on to the other fabulous vendors that made up this Modern Ocean shoot. Andrea did the planning, design and florals, Lavender & Honey provided paper goods & the yummy looking naked cake, Stephanie over at Savannah Vintage Rentals provided that awesome door backdrop (which we can't wait to use for a wedding by the way..), calligraphy by LowCountry Paper Co., the bridesmaids rocked dresses from Custard Boutique (a must stop shop in historic Savannah), and the lovely ladies were made up by Dollface by Jules and Wicked Lulu. All in all, huge thank you to Jade + Matthew and Andrea for using our dress in this shoot!! Ya'll did such a stunning job putting together everything!!! DESIGNER FEATURE: Rebecca Schoneveld

One of our favorite designers is Rebecca Schoneveld. When we saw her gowns at our first trip to market, we were stunned. We knew right then, right there, we had to add her to the store. And we are so glad we did! She is one of our top designers, and brides fall in love with her as soon as they try her gowns on. She is constantly a favorite! Her gowns are handmade in Brooklyn from the finest fabrics, and she isn't afraid to play with color, like blue and blush! Her dresses are romantic, they emphasize a women's natural beauty. They make you feel gorgeous, and like a true bride.

We are so excited to be hosting a trunk show with all of Rebecca's 2015 gowns April 10th - 12th! Appointments are filling up quickly, so make sure to set yours up before they are gone!

Oh Rosaline. From the first time we saw her at our first Bridal Market we fell in love. Everything about her is perfect. From her soft lace appliques, button detail down the back, and the most stunning back on a dress we have ever seen. We LOVE the sheer lace detail, and our brides do too! She is the perfect southern lady, and works both in a church or outside by large oak trees.

THOUGHTS TUESDAY: Dear Brides

Dear brides,

Today I am here because I have a few requests from you. I am here to ask you a few favors and I am going to be quite honest while writing these requests and you may not like to hear them but sometimes we just need to say what we need to say because maybe what we are about to say isn't bad, or mean, but just the truth and it needs to be heard. So here goes. Today I am here because I have a few requests that are in regards to shopping for your wedding dress and so here goes.

1. Be open and say yes to new things. We are here to help. We are here to make you happy. We want so badly to make you happy. We want so badly for you to feel beautiful. We want so badly for you to love your dress. And we don't just want you to love your dress but we want you to be comfortable in it. So please be open with your consultant. Trust your consultant. She may pull a dress for you to try on that makes you stick up your nose in disgust. You may shake your head and say no way, not me, not happening. But in life there are things that come your way that you are going to initially deny. But I want you to think back to a time when you were presented with something you didn't want but you said yes. And then it was love. Maybe it was a plate full of oysters, all slimy and gooey but maybe you tried them anyway. And now one of your favorite things to do is shuck oysters on a Friday night with an ice cold beer. Maybe it was a can of coconut water which smells really weird and even has chunky weird stuff in it. But you tried it anyway and now you love it and drink it everyday and you get overly excited when its 2 for $3 on sale at Kroger. Or the best of them all, maybe it was a nerdy guy who asked you on a date and your initial thought was oh no he is not good enough for me but you said you would give it a shot anyway, I mean c'mon we all know we say yes to a date every once in awhile when we think we are too good for a guy but it means free dinner. But you said yes and now you are engaged and looking for your wedding dress. Goes without saying I believe I have sufficiently made my point... be open. New things will come your way, new dresses will come into your dressing room. Be open. You never know until you try it. Dare to try some pink on, or even a gown with a back cut-out detail.

2. Separates doesn't mean separate. Bridal separates are not bad. It does not mean you aren't buying a wedding dress. No, it means you have the privilege to put together your dream dress. Just because it is separate now does not mean you are getting two separate pieces when you order your dress it simply just means you get to choose the perfect bridal top for yourself and then you get a choose the perfect skirt for yourself that can fit together. You are essentially getting a custom wedding dress. Separates doesn't mean separate, give them a chance. You just might find the dress of your dreams and you got to put it together yourself.

3. Everybody has a price point. I don't care if your budget is $500 or $10,000. Everybody has some special number they want to stay within. Tell us. We aren't going to judge you but rather we are going to do the exact opposite. We are going to use that special number to help you find a dress that you not only love but that you can afford. The best part about shopping at a small boutique is that we can work with you and we know what costs what. If you tell us your budget we can direct you to the right dresses and the right accessories. We just want to help that's all. We aren't asking your price point to judge you we just want to know how we can help you. Below are three dresses by Nicole Miller, all at different price points. It's best to tell us what you are comfortable with spending, not just the designers you like, this way we can pull the best options!

We are so excited to be getting our Rosaline gown back in the shop! She was one of our best sellers last year, and we can see why. She features stunning lace, a sheer back, cap sleeves and the most beautiful train we have ever seen. She is designed by Rebecca Schoneveld, who is the master of lace and construction. Her gowns are exquisite, with detail and craftsmanship. We paired Rosaline with the Pantone 2015 color of the year, Marsala, a mix of dusty rose and burgundy. You can use Marsala in spring with pops of bright reds and golds, or in fall with burgundy and grays. Such a versatile color!

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Rebecca Schoneveld + Evening Twilight

We are head over heels for our newest gown by Rebecca Schoneveld! Straight from her 2015 collection, Camille is a gorgeous lace gown, with cap sleeve detail. Rebecca always does lace perfectly, and we love the softness of the lace on this gown! It's so romantic, but with a hint of drama. Perfect for an evening wedding under the stars! We were inspired to create a board inspired by a sky of cafe lights and chinese lanterns. Adding detail to the ceiling of your space really sets the mood for an evening wedding, and lets the guests enjoy their surroundings. And what better way to add some sparkle then with your bridesmaid gown! We love this gown from Rent The Runway, which has a silver metallic sheen under the black. Plus, the necklace could work either for the bride, or the bridesmaid!

SIMPLY BORROWED: Laura Fulmer Fall Shoot

We love seeing how people style our gowns, and we are obsessed with this shoot by Laura Fulmer + Cote Designs! This shoot was recently featured on Cottage Hill Magazine, so we had to share on our blog too! Pastel Makeup and Hair made the model look like perfection! The best part is when she takes her hair down, it's a curly dream! We love how Gemma was used, with her sleek lines she is a timeless classic. They also used Marion by Sarah Seven, which has a classic corset top covered in lace, and an organza bottom. There are so many things we can say about this shoot (how amazing the photography is, the stunning flowers, the gorgeous house, the candles...) but we will let the photo's do the talking! One of springs newest trends are off the shoulder sleeves. Here at Ivory and Beau we are loving this sexy but romantic look, and have plenty of gowns to choose from! Amour by Sarah Seven has lace sleeves that can be work both on the shoulder, or off for a more romantic feel. One of our newest gowns by Rebecca Schoneveld is Elsa, a gorgeous cotton lace gown, with high neck, sheer sleeves, and extra low back. Elsa wood be gorgeous in a woodland themed wedding, with greens, velvets and foxes! We just LOVE these fox invitations from Minted. It really sets the theme of your whole wedding, and lets guests know what to expect! My favorite part of the whole look are these super adorable fox heels, such a perfect pop of color and animals! SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Cottage Hill Magazine} Bridal Inspiration by Laura Fulmer

Two of my favorite dresses were used in a bridal inspiration shoot by the very talented photographer Laura Fulmer and these pictures are just magical. So I am so excited to share the feature on Cottage Hill of our dresses! The shoot was styled by Cote Designs Florals and Event Design who did some seriously amazing floral arrangements that were larger than life and a floral crown that is just stunning. Jen Lewis of Pastel Makeup made over the bride and she looked stunning while modeling our Rebecca Schoneveld Gemma gown and Sarah Seven Marion gown. We love our Samantha gown by Rebecca Schoneveld! With her gorgeous chantilly lace sleeves and open keyhole back, she is stunning! When Emily at Alp and Isle asked to borrow it to shoot, we were so excited! We love how it drapes, and how it looks on!

STYLED SHOOT: Greenhouse, Bamboo Farms + Botany

Here are Ivory and Beau, we love everything nature. Flowers, trees, birds and bees, we love it all! So we knew we wanted to do a botany inspired shoot. Before we even started planning we knew we wanted the amazing Izzy Hudgins to photograph it. Her photography is gorgeous, crisp, and just flat out perfect. So once we got Izzy on board, we started planning! We had always wanted to do a shoot at a greenhouse, and the Coastal Botanical Gardens in Savannah were ideal! Not only did they have a greenhouse, but they had amazing gardens, and even a bamboo farm! To tie in the botany and science theme we created a huge chalkboard ceremony backdrop, filled with math equations (which we also did on the dinner table) For the escort cards, we wanted to do a DIY project (tutorial here!) and made a pallet board display filled with plants. We already had this crazy idea for a hanging test tube chandelier for a bride's wedding, so this was the perfect opportunity to test it out! It was made by Whitney at The Grace Graffiti, who was amazing in helping us put our crazy idea to life! Colonial House of Flowers did the flowers, floral crown and the STUNNING chandelier. When we saw the chandelier, we thought there would just be a few flowers, but noooo, they completely blew us away with what they made!! I mean it was insane how amazing it was.  When looking for a model, Izzy suggested Leslie Miller of Leslie Miller Designs (who beaded the tie and necklace) and she was perfect! (Plus, Adrienna has been following her beadwork on social media for a while, so meeting her in person was awesome!) Her blue hair was fabulous, and hair and makeup by Marie Bramlett made it even more perfect. (I mean ombre blue hair?! Yes please!)
