SIMPLY BORROWED: Soho South Cafe

The best grilled cheese sandwich I have ever had was at Soho South Cafe. I don't even like tomato's (nor can I eat them, I'm allergic!) but their tomato basil soup was so good I had to have some! So when Alysse from Design Studio South contacted us saying they needed a gown for a shoot at Soho South Cafe, we of course said yes! Soho South is the newest event venue in Savannah, and we know it's going to be so popular! Located in Historic Savannah, it's close to everything, and perfect for a downtown wedding. The space is open and inviting, but with a touch of vintage elements in the furniture and design. The members of Daniel Reed Hospitality has completely renovated the space, making it one of the best venues in town. But don't worry, they are still open from 11-4PM for lunch! For more images of the shoot, check out Teresa's Blog!

SIMPLY WED: Liz + Josh

Ummmm... are ya'll ready to see pictures of the happiest couple I think I've ever seen in my entire life!? When I first looked through all the pictures that Teresa Earnest sent over I was seriously beaming myself because this couple just does not stop laughing and smiling. You can just tell they are crazy about each other and so madly in love. It is really really really awesome and is what this job is really all about. This couple was also a lot of fun to work with during the planning process. We incorporated a lot of fun little surprises for guests and got creative with different details.

This couple got married at Forsyth Park in front of the fountain with rentals from Amazing Event Rentals. Their reception followed at The Mackey House but before guests arrived we had Oglethorpe Tours give guests a short tour around Savannah!! I love that they were able to incorporate some tourist activities for guests since this was a destination wedding. Cape Creations even put together cute little bags of mixed nuts for guests to take on the trolley and oh my gosh ya'll these are the best nuts you will ever taste. Cynthia is a pure whiz in the kitchen. She also made the most adorable appetizers for their cocktail hour... the mini chicken + waffles was by far the cutest thing I have ever seen and the most delicious thing I have ever tasted. For the dessert we had mini mason jars filled with different types of pie from Lulu's Chocolate Bar and then Cape Creations also came out later in the evening with ice cream floats. Everything was delicious... The flowers were designed by the fabulous ladies over at A to Zinnias and were put together so perfectly with soft colors. Michelle Royal did hair + makeup for the bride and bridal party and Liz looked absolutely beautiful. It was pretty cool because our alterations specialist, Shirley, met with Liz a few days before the wedding and was able to help her fix some minor things on her dress. The couple is not only the happiest couple but their guests were seriously happy too. They danced the night away on the light up dance floor over the pool on the deck at the Mackey House with music from All About You. Last but most certainly not least was the sweet babysitter at Guardian Angels that babysat the cutest little kid you will ever see. All in all, the wedding went really well and we are so happy for Liz + Josh!! Huge congratulations to the happy couple and thank you for letting us be a part of your big day!!!!

SIMPLY BRIDAL: The Brice Hotel

The Brice is a new, urban, and modern hotel downtown. We were so happy when Teresa Earnest asked to borrow dresses for her shoot there! We love the pops of colors at the hotel, with amazing artwork, and one of the best outdoor bars in Savannah. We are so excited to see Savannah grow, with so many new hotels and venues popping up, and can't wait to do a wedding there this December!

SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Savannah Magazine} Women in Business

We were so excited when approached about being in Savannah Magazine's Women in Business feature and so we jumped on this opportunity!! It is still somewhat of a dream when I stop and think to myself that I am a business owner at such a young age. I mean... I always knew since I was young I wanted to own my own business, but I guess I always figured it would happen after I spent 20 or so years working in corporate America climbing the ladder to the top. Growing up with a dad who was an entrepreneur and an uncle who is also an entrepreneur it just kind of makes sense that I always wanted that too. So it was really special and really exciting to be in this issue because it just makes it feel a little bit more real even though trust me when I say there are still times where I'll be painting a backdrop with Adrienna and I'll stop and think whoa. This is my job. I am getting paid right now for doing this and it is awesome. And I feel so blessed and happy about it. So anyway, check out below for our feature in the magazine!!! And thank you to Teresa Earnest for coming to the shop + photographing us!!

My dad has always been someone I have looked up to for advice and wisdom. So it just made sense that we used a quote that he has told me a lot during my life and that is to "keep your knees bent over the moguls." What he has always meant behind this is to keep a steady pace and a steady head regardless of the bad as well as the good that happens. There will be tough times but you got to keep your head up, there will also be really good times but you can't let it get to your head. Just keep moving forward and keep working hard. And that's what we plan to do..! :)
