SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Shipwrecked + Goodbye to Summer

Can ya'll believe it's almost September!?! Oh my gosh I can't even begin to describe how fast this year has gone by. And now it's wedding season all over again!!! Simply Savannah Events has its first wedding this fall next Saturday at the Trustee's Garden. I could not be more excited for all the upcoming weddings we have! They are all going to be so different + so unique. From a preppy navy + pink wedding, to a peach, blush + ivory whimsical wedding, to a bird-lover's rustic vintage wedding, to a handmade wedding with origami cranes, to a shabby chic Pennsylvania barn wedding, to a last minute elegant wedding, to an ombre purple wedding for a reality show contestant, and ending the year with a rustic vintage shabby chic tented wedding in a field. Going to be amazing... cannot wait to see how they all turn out!!! Plus, LOTS of exciting news coming shortly... stay tuned.

Here is my goodbye summer nautical wedding inspiration! I will miss the hot sweaty weather + mosquitoes dearly.

SIMPLY INSPIRATION: Nautical Prep

I love anything nautical and preppy. And navy blue is by far one of my favorite colors. I have actually even got it all planned out for my home office to-be in our new house. One wall... vertical navy blue stripes and the rest will just be solid navy. Anyway, my love for boating comes from my childhood. I grew up spending lots of weekends on my dad's yacht, "Nicole's Rainbow." (Named after a painting I drew of a boat in the river with rainbows and fish flying in the sky... which my dad then had a professional artist recreate to have put on the side of the boat.) I can remember my favorite place on the boat was sitting above where the anchor drops and I would dangle my feet over the edge while we rode around in the Willamette River. Such great memories. :) If I had some pictures here I would share but I think they are all back in my Portland home. Hope you enjoy this nautical prep wedding inspiration! I would love to someday work a wedding on a sailboat... now that would be amazing!

{Inspiration Board} Nautical Theme

Are you ready for some major sea worthy inspiration?! It's about time that I put together a fun inspiration board and when two people I know are doing a nautical theme wedding I figured I would round up some ideas. One of them is thinking about combining pink or blush with navy, which is such a nice combo that has many options. Whether you are having your wedding at the beach, yacht club, backyard, ballroom or restaurant or your style is elegant, preppy, bohemian, or classic I'm sure you'll like something on this board! What's your favorite?

Ceremony Ideas
Consider using ribbon, or monkey knots for aisle markers, maybe even shells or buoys instead of flowers for your ceremony. I loved this idea my friend shared of doing handmade fly fishing wedding boutonnieres for those guys that love to fish!
How about a boat for containing all your drinks?
 Adorable bridesmaids gift idea!
Write Mr. & Mrs. in twine?
The south is known for their delicious oysters and there are plenty of free empty shells for you to get your hands on. Why not use them as decor throughout your wedding. If you are crafty, try building one of these oyster shell chandeliers!!
Last but not least, my favorite, guests were treated to a monogrammed jar of lifesavers, and a donation in their name to save lives through clean water projects in Africa. Love gifts that give!

This theme is also great for house parties, bridal showers, baby showers, or birthday parties too.
So many places you can go with it - LOVE IT ALL!
