SIMPLY PUBLISHED: {Style Me Pretty} Cassie + Paul

For those of you who are new to the blog or just don't know... Layla Mayville and her company, Simply Savannah Events, was really my first job experience in the wedding planning industry. Yeah, I had some experience working catering jobs and other miscellaneous event planning experience in college but not until working with Layla did I get a behind-the-scenes look at what being a wedding planner really is. So it is with my pleasure to share this wedding I helped out Layla with that was published on Style Me Pretty this week!!! Layla was such a great mentor and teacher and I loved hanging out with her at weddings and asking her questions about wedding planning so that I could learn as much as possible. Also, I have to credit her for introducing me to the world of floral design! Layla has now since moved to New York where she started company Blue Mason Jar Studio and military wedding blog A Military Story. Be sure to check out both for lots of loveliness!! And huge thank you to Layla for agreeing to let me be her assistant... who knows where in the world I would be if it weren't for her believing in me... But really. Crazy to think about things like that but lets be real. Working for Layla was the first step taken down this path and I am oh so grateful for it. Side note... Layla come visit anytime and thank you for staying in touch even after you moved!!!!! <3

Now that all being said, this wedding makes me really excited because the bride and groom live in Portland, Oregon (my hometown.) And not just that but the bride bought her dress from Lena Medoyeff. THE LENA MEDOYEFF. Is it a small world or what? Because I think it is... because fast forward 3 years and now we are the only Lena Medoyeff bridal retailer other than her own shop in the fashion district in Portland. See!? It is a small world, and I just love it. And we also really love Lynn of Lena Medoyeff. Not just because her gowns are made of the most amazing lace and are so elegant and beautiful (which they are) but also because she always sends us specialty chocolate from Portland. Another really cool thing is that my stepmom has actually shopped at Lena Medoyeff Studio before since they also have other dresses besides bridal gowns. Small world...

Cassie + Paul's wedding photographed by Concept-A Photography took place at Whitefield Chapel with a reception followed at 10 Downing and was a very romantic and lovely Southern wedding!! We hope you enjoy checking out the loveliness and head on over to Blue Mason Jar Studio and A Military Story to give Layla some major love!!!!!!!! Without her I don't even know if Ivory + Beau would have ever happened... Whoa.
