{STYLED SHOOT} Romantic + Dramatic at Brockington Hall

I am thrilled to finally share this styled shoot on the blog!!! This shoot was so fun because it was so different from my "normal wedding style," but I think that's why I enjoyed it so much. I wanted to do something more glamorous, romantic and elegant yet also dark and dramatic... At the same time I also wanted to somehow bring in some fun elements of things that I like to make it a little different (insert black winged horse + hanging installation here). And I am so excited with how it turned out!!! Heather of Beyond Beautiful did two amazing hair and makeup looks. The first was very soft, romantic yet at the same time it was still different. The unique updo is something so totally different I have never seen done, and it looked so stunning with the corset ballgown from BleuBelle Bridal. The second look was a more edgy romantic look, which was definitely my favorite look. I loved how both looks were something different, not your everyday bridal look. I think the edgier look would be so elegant for your wedding makeup. Any brides out there brave enough to do something dramatic like that??? The second look was pulled together with a Nicole Miller gown from BleuBelle Boutique and the black collar necklace is owned by moi.

For the tablescape I wanted mostly black elements and so I decided to try layering black on black. All of the plates, chargers and silverware were a DIY project in my garage, along with the winged horse. In Any Event provided me with the black tablecloth. For the flowers I wanted to do something big, large, and dramatic. The black urn I used for the centerpiece ended up being so big that I actually ran out of flowers about halfway through and had to go purchase more to fill it. For the bouquet I wanted something romantic, soft and simple so I just used some garden roses and greenery. Laura Lavender did all the calligraphy on the invitations and escort cards. I love how dramatic the white calligraphy is on the black paper. She did such a great job!!! And due to some snafus with the mail service... she actually drove several hours to get to the shoot on time... THANK YOU. It pulled together the table perfectly!

Now to my absolute favorite part of this shoot... the hanging roses installation. I kind of have this weird obsession with hanging things from stuff. And when Melissa at Brockington Hall gave me permission I was kind of jumping with joy. It took me almost an hour probably to hang all the roses, but it was so worth it... and if asked to hang one hundred roses from a chandelier, I will gladly say yesssss please choose me. The cake was provided by Thrive A Carry Out Cafe. I had a vision, and I knew that I wanted the cake to be all black... and they were so amazing and went with it. Thank you Katherine for working with me on this to make it happen!! Other big thank you to Melissa and Lee at Brockington Hall!!! Ya'll are the sweetest ever and your house is absolutely breathtaking. Such a perfect place for a wedding! And thanks Shannon for the photos! Now I hope ya'll enjoy!!

  1. I love the last image of the girl's reflection in the clock. Everything is so dramatic! Love the black stationery calligraphy, black cake and the gorgeous flower arrangement! Very romantic but eerie at the same time. Great job!!
